Stream sluices (Trek, Adventure, Transformer models) are lightweight and fold for backpack access to remote creeks. Highbankers and power sluices add a pump and hopper so you can run paydirt above the waterline and process far more material per hour. Clean-up sluices (Gold Clean Up Buddy, Boss Micro) concentrate your cons at home with recirculating 12V kits. All feature Dream Mat vortex matting that traps fine flour gold other systems wash away.

What makes the Dream Mat better than traditional riffles?

Dream Mat's engineered vortex cells create low-pressure zones that hold fine and flour gold even at aggressive water flows, while classifying out light material — recovering gold that miner's moss and standard ribbed matting typically lose.

Should I get a stream sluice or a highbanker?

If you work directly in flowing creeks and hike to your spots, start with a folding stream sluice. If you want to process more yards of material or work away from the waterline, a highbanker/power sluice kit with pump is the productivity upgrade.

Is a sluice box better than gold panning?

A sluice processes 10–20 times more material per hour than panning alone — you still finish with a pan, but the sluice does the bulk work. It's the single best upgrade for a beginning prospector.
