What is a 3D ground scanner?

A 3D ground scanner is a specialist detection system used to map or visualize changes beneath the surface. Depending on the model and manufacturer, systems may be designed to identify metallic targets, cavities, voids, buried structures or other subsurface anomalies. They generally require more setup, scanning discipline and interpretation than a basic hobby metal detector.
