Do bigger search coils detect deeper?

Generally yes — a larger coil sends a bigger field into the ground, adding depth on medium and large targets and covering more ground per sweep. The trade-off is reduced sensitivity to tiny targets and more weight, which is why many detectorists own both sizes.
