The ANENG DM3005B is a compact handheld metal detector pinpointer built to do one job well: show you exactly where your target is buried so you stop digging blind. Frequently asked questions

Is this a replacement for a full-size metal detector?

No, and that is the point. A pinpointer is a companion tool. Your main detector finds the general area; the DM3005B tells you the exact spot inside it. Most detectorists carry both.

How deep will it detect?

Up to 12 cm (4.72 in) on larger metal objects. As with every pinpointer, small targets such as thin coins, tiny gold rings and shot pellets are detected at shorter range, typically within a few centimetres of the ring.

Can I use it on the beach or in water?

It works well on dry and damp sand. We do not rate this unit for submersion, so keep the ring out of standing water and rinse and dry it after a salt-water session.

Will it tell gold apart from iron?

It detects both ferrous and non-ferrous metal and signals a hit, but it does not display a target ID or metal type. Use your main detector's discrimination for that, then use the DM3005B to pinpoint.

How do I switch between beep and vibration?

Power the unit on, then press the power button again to cycle through the three alert modes: silent vibration, buzzer only, and beep with vibration.

Is it suitable for kids?
