How it works

A highbanker functions by pumping a steady stream of water into a top-mounted hopper where raw gravel and dirt are fed. The water aggressively washes the material over a classifier screen, breaking apart clay and washing away larger, worthless rocks. The remaining gold-bearing sands and gravels drop into the lower sluice box, where specialized hydrodynamic mats create small vortexes that capture heavy gold particles while flushing lighter waste material out the back.
